just from my observations, it seems that a lot of people here prefer jeans from APC and that ilk.
is it a style preference?
what makes you go for those jeans over sevens / j brand / r&r / hudson etc. ?
do you have preconceived notions about people who wear certain brands of jeans?

i, for one, love j. crew jeans but have been mildly accosted for them not being name brand,
exclusive enough, etc.

I think this is very lame but i need your help guys since you guys know more about photo-sharing/manipulation website than I do. So, the qn is, what is the website that you know, uploads pictures, and say, imprints them on a magazine or a tee-shirt, or some frame, or the ones in public places. It was popular a while back, but I can't find it in my history. I have a dateline coming, and I don't want to waste time photoshopping away again. Really do appreaciate any help:)

For Old Snaggle Tooth by Charles Bukowski [Nov 08 2009 / 3:17am]

literaryquotes

[jaided79]

I know a woman
who keeps buying puzzles
chinese
puzzles
blocks
wires
pieces that finally fit
into some order.
she works it out
mathematically
she solves all her
puzzles
lives down by the sea
puts sugar out for the ants
and believes
ultimately
in a better world.
her hair is white
she seldom combs it
her teeth are snaggled
and she wears loose shapeless
coveralls over a body most
women would wish they had.
for many years she irritated me
with what I consider her
eccentricities -
like soaking eggshells in water
(to feed the plants so that
they'd get calcium).
but finally when I think of her
life
and compare it to other lives
more dazzling, original
and beautiful
I realize that she has hurt fewer
people than anybody I know
(and by hurt I simply mean hurt).
she has had some terrible times,
times when maybe I should have
helped her more
for she is the mother of my only
child
and we were once great lovers,
but she has come through
like I said
she has hurt fewer people than
anybody I know,
and if you look at it like that,
well,
she has created a better world.
she has won.

Frances, this poem is for
you.

“And for my own good, all I knew will soon be dying.” * [Nov 08 2009 / 3:09am]

literaryquotes

[exilian]
[ music | Iris - Annie, Would I Lie to You? * ]

"Look about you, Clarke. You see the mountain, and hill following after hill, as wave on wave, you see the woods and orchard, the fields of ripe corn, and the meadows reaching to the reed-beds by the river. You see me standing here beside you, and hear my voice; but I tell you that all these things-- yes, from that star that has just shone out in the sky to the solid ground beneath our feet--I say that all these are but dreams and shadows; the shadows that hide the real world from our eyes. There is a real world, but it is beyond this glamour and this vision, beyond these 'chases in Arras, dreams in a career,' beyond them all as beyond a veil. I do not know whether any human being has ever lifted that veil; but I do know, Clarke, that you and I shall see it lifted this very night from before another's eyes. You may think this all strange nonsense; it may be strange, but it is true, and the ancients knew what lifting the veil means. They called it seeing the god Pan." "

- Arthur Machen, The Great God Pan

I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.
I think that if I ever have kids, and they are upset, I won't tell then that people are starving in China or anything like that because it wouldn't change the fact that they were upset. And even if somebody else has it much worse, that doesn't really change the fact that you have what you have.

My rats... I dunno. They love to drink from the same water bottle, even though there are two in the cage. They even did it when there were four bottles in the cage.
